Thanks everyone for participating - almost 900 votes, so I think it gives a reasonable indication of how people feel. Will be very interesting to see how the arbitration goes.

Big mistake to ever sell Qantas in the first place. It has to compete with government owned and subsidised airlines like Emirates and Qatar. The level playing does not exist outside of the MCG.

Our pilots are some of the highest paid in the world plus perks. Is it a case of out pricing the company that employs them. You are asking for restrictions on this company, yet we don't demand the same restrictions on other Australian companies when they do the same.

Your question implies that outsourcing is cheaper and thus if the "Australians" are willing to do the same work for less pay then there would be no need to outsource.

Wrong question really! Should be - do you want cheap flights and outsource the jobs or do you want to pay a premium for the same flight to keep jobs in Oz and that will mean not choosing other low cost airlines to fly on as Qantas cannot be competitive if you do!
